IT’S AN UNWRITTEN rule of Irish life that when you’re in the pub and you buy a packet of crisps, you must open them so that everyone at the table can comfortably reach them and hand traffic can exceed one at a time.
But splitting the foil pack is hard, and often results in a less than desirable distribution of crisp-to-corner, or, God forbid, a tear.
