This little Kilkenny village has been utterly transformed into a Hollywood film set
FILMING FOR JIM Sheridan’s latest film has gotten underway in the small Kilkenny village of Inistioge.
The Secret Scripture, an adaptation of the Sebastian Barry novel of the same name, is being shot on location in Inistioge this week to the delight of many locals.
Whoops!

The film follows a 100-year-old Irish woman recounting her time spent in various mental institutions over the years.
It is set to star international actors such as Rooney Mara, Vanessa Redgrave, Eric Bana and Theo James. The film also boasts serious Irish talent with the likes of Jack Reynor, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and Aidan Turner set to star.
Vaughan-Lawlor and Pauline McLynn were among those spotted on set today.
The film will shoot in the village for the remainder of the week. Shooting has also taken place in Co. Dublin.
This isn’t the first time that Inistioge (population: 260) has found itself at the centre of a fancy pants film production. Back in the early 1990s, it was used as the filming location for Widows’ Peak and Circle of Friends.
Yes, that Circle of Friends!
Stone cold classic.
