Look at this tiny hare that was rescued after being dropped by a bird near Dublin Airport

Meet Seamus.

THIS MORNING, THE Dublin SPCA took to Facebook to share a rather delightful video.

A new rescue animal had been found – and he had the luckiest back story:

“Seamus a one week old hare having his breakfast. He was dropped by a bird in Dublin Airport and rescued by a passer by. Lucky boy”

Seamus’s story has captured people’s imaginations on Facebook all day – with over 2000 likes and an outpouring of support for the littlest hare.

DailyEdge.ie was told that Seamus was moved to the Kildare Animal Foundation and they described how he’s getting on:

Seamus arrived into us today, we’re going to rehabilitate him for the next 6-8 weeks and then release him back into the wild. We pick suitable spots for them to return and we try to make it as close to where they come from as possible.

His back story of being dropped from the mouth of a bird is common enough they say, but being found safe and sound is a bit of a miracle:

Sometimes it can happen, seagulls and bigger crows might try to eat them. Finding them is not so common so he’s very lucky. He’s doing very well and taking it all in his stride.

He’s going to be kept on the bottle feeds for the next couple of weeks and slowly weaned off them.

Good luck Seamus <3
