Dublin has been named the 'favourite city' of travellers the world over

Flawless. *flicks hair*

GUESS WHAT? DUBLIN has been named the ‘favourite city’ of travellers all over the world.

Our capital was given the honour at the Trazee Awards in Florida at the weekend.

Aer Lingus was also named travellers’ ‘favourite airline in Europe’, which should add fuel to the fire of its long-standing rivalry with Ryanair.

Trazee is a website aimed at young travellers aged 18 to 35 - it collected nominations for the awards from its contributors around the globe, as well as online submissions from their readers.

Alison Metcalfe of Tourism Ireland says Americans are flocking to Ireland in droves, and that this award will encourage more young travellers to come to Dublin:

These young independent travellers are open to travelling for shorter breaks and are looking for cities that offer vibrant and distinctive cultural experiences.

And we’re more than happy for Dublin to be included in this number. Sure aren’t we only gorgeous?
