U2 WILL PERFORM at the launch of Apple’s iPhone 6 today, Ben Sisario of The New York Times reports.
The band is said to have some sort of role in the new products Apple plans to announce.
Rumours of U2′s involvement in the iPhone 6 launch began a little over a week ago on Twitter and some Apple blogs.
The band was also spotted filming a brand-new video on the Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin last month.
Some have speculated that U2 will launch a new album today, while others have said it will come pre-loaded on the iPhone 6.
However speaking to DailyEdge.ie last week, U2′s publicist has said they were “not aware of any plans” to release the album pre-loaded on the new iPhone.
The New York Times report only says U2′s new album is “connected” to the iPhone 6. Mysterious.
It’s not the first time U2 have buddied up with Apple – in 2004, they collaborated to release a special edition of the iPod for charity.
