Eagle-eyed Irish viewer Cliona Moore spotted a very local connection when she was watching one of the new episodes on Sky Living last night, as she tells DailyEdge.ie:

37 minutes into my Sky recorded episode of Season 4, Episode 3 of Elementary this evening, Sherlock hands Watson a newspaper with an article about the discovery of a body during construction of a new Student Centre of a fictional University in New York state.

It looked very familiar, so I used my powers of deduction to deduce that its the UCC O’Rahilly Building! I shoułd know, I spent 5 years there…

UCC is finally on the map on network television in the US

Why did they pick UCC? We don’t know. But it’s not the first time Irish people have spotted a connection to a famous show – like the time half the country thought they heard the characters of Scandal talk about Supermac’s.

It turned out that they weren’t talking about the purveyors of fine snack boxes at all, but this appearance of UCC is the real thing and the evidence is all there.
