Netflix may finally be cracking down on international users who try to access US Netflix
USE VPN TO access US Netflix? The jig may be up as the streaming service is reportedly cracking down on users who attempt to access the site through such means.
What’s VPN, you ask?
As the content offered on Netflix varies wildly from country to country, many international subscribers use VPN (virtual private network) services to snake around the site’s strict geoblocks and watch US Netflix.
Now the website is reportedly taking action against such services.
Reddit users were the first to spot that the site was blocking the use of VPN servers such as UnoTelly and Unblock-US.

Since then, other VPN providers such as TorGuard have reported errors when trying to access the site from different regions.
A spokesperson for Netflix denied blocking VPN services any more than usual, telling The Next Web:
Interestingly, e-mails from the recent Sony leak revealed that the studio was none too pleased with Netflix’s failure to block illegal access to the site, describing it as”another form of piracy” that is “semi-sanctioned by Netflix”.
While it seems like the vast majority of users have nothing to worry about for the time being, the news that they may finally be doing something about it has sent Irish VPN users into a mild panic.
Whoops!
