FROM THE OUTSIDE, McGuinness’ Traditional Take Away on Dublin’s Camden Street might look like your average chipper.
After all, it serves kebabs, burgers, pizzas and chips. You know, normal chipper fare.
But what separates it from the rest of the pack is the fact that it actually also has a rather decent vegan menu.
A chipper that does vegan food? Well, I never.
Their aim is to be “the first chipper to cater to your vegan customers with their own menu”. Because, as the point out, vegans get hungry, too.
What can a vegan get in a chipper, you ask?
McGuinness do a range of vegan burgers, kebabs and pizzas. They even do vegan battered sausages. Colour us intrigued.
Their meats are supplied by Moodley Manor, an Irish manufacturer of vegan free meat.
Look at this vegan burger patty.
So, what’s the verdict?
Pretty good!
