A load of people just took to the streets of Galway to do a collective Viking Clap
Galway 2020 Facebook Galway 2020 Facebook
THE CITY OF Galway is currently bidding to become the European Capital of Culture in 2020.
The judges were in town today, so amongst all the other festivities, the people of Galway planned one final send off to keep them in the forefront of the judges’ minds:
A massive collective Viking clap to see them off.
It was, of course, made popular by the Iceland team and fans at Euro 2016

And Galwegians channeled that spirit into their own clap

It got more and more intense as it reached its climax
HUUUUU.
Before, during and after – the streets were lined with people ready to clap
The judges won’t forget this very 2016 show of enthusiasm
Hopefully it makes a difference in the end – but either way, it was a great collective effort
All for a good cause <3
