VILLAGERS HAVE BEEN named the Meteor Choice Music Prize winners for best Irish album of the year.
The awards, now in their third year, took place in Vicar Street in Dublin this evening.
Villagers’ album ‘Awayland’ fended off competition from nine other Irish artists, such as O Emperor with Vitreous and Kodaline’s In a Perfect World.
My Bloody Valentine’s MBV had been installed as favourite by bookmakers when nominations were announced last month.
