WILL SPARKS IS a 23-year-old Australian DJ and music producer.
He is also apparently not a fan of Snapchat filters.
Last night, the DJ posted a status in which he condemned women for using Snapchat to take selfies instead of sharing more inspiring, exciting content.
I strongly suggest doing something GOOD, MOTIVATING, INSPIRING or maybe even ENTERTAINING or EXCITING! You have this massive following yet all you use it for is to fulfil your significance and love for CERTAINTY aka ‘likes/views’. You’ll feel a lot better contributing to these people’s lives, helping them to grow.
Right.
He was immediately criticised for shaming women’s behaviour online.
While others pointed out that he wasn’t exactly one for sharing enlightening content online himself
Doesn’t look like you were fulfilling your significance there, Will.
While others politely pointed out to him that women are free to use the dog filter on Snapchat until the cows come home if they so choose.
Music blog Pilerats summed it up best in this status ripping the piss out of Sparks’ original screed.
They not so subtly pointed out that you shouldn’t “cast aspersions on people based on what they do on f**king Snapchat” and advised him to shut up.
Sparks has since deleted the original status. Probably for the best, really.
Now if you excuse us, we’re off to use the flower crown filter.
