DailyEdge praises those who rocked the week in celebland, while keeping a watchful eye on those who should just log off forever.
Losers.
Eyal Brooker
You know at the start we we all rooting for Eyal when Hayley was being a bit of (ok a lot of) a melt about her couple. However, his rather creepy behaviour since Megan arrived has put himself squarely into the losers category this week.
The aim of Love Island as we know is to couple up so Eyal getting ‘f**ked off’ at Alex attempting to CHAT to Megan is a bit much. If Eyal wants to have an ‘open and honest relationship’ with people then it might be helpful if he recognised his own bullshit and stopped treating Megan as a possession. #TeamAlex
Robbie Williams
Listen I don’t think of us expected that in the year of our lord 2018, Robbie Williams would be opening the World Cup by singing all his major hits from 20 years ago but here we are.
As World Cup opening ceremonies go that was as rubbish as all the others. Bring on the football.

Robbie’s performance was meh to say the least as was his suit (red leopard print????) and the whole thing was just rather bizarre. Why was everyone dressed as footballs? Why was there an opera singer? It was like the €2 Shop version of the Opening Ceremony for the London Olympics. Also Robbie giving the middle finger to the cameras was just weird as were the weird looks he kept giving to camera. We may need years to recover.
Winners
Nicola Coughlan
The Derry Girls actress is currently starring in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie as Joyce Emily and the reviews have been pretty good. That is except for British Theatre Guide reviewer Philip Fischer who felt the need to comment on Coughlan’s weight in his review because as we all know, we know your weight is totally relevant to your job.
Well Nicola wasn’t having any of it and called the British Theatre Guide out on Twitter and rightly so because this isn’t the first time he’s done it.
Hi @BritTheatreGuid, for the second time your reviewer Philip Fisher has come to see a show I’m in, and as part of reviewing the show he has also reviewed my body.

How can you continue to support this? pic.twitter.com/Rtd7mVBmSA
I was in a show called Jess and Joe Forever @traversetheatre last August which he came to see and his opening sentence was “Jess is a fat girl”
— Nicola Coughlan (@nicolacoughlan) June 14, 2018
My weight has no relevance to either the performance I gave in that or in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie
Well calling them out looks like it’s worked as Nicola got an apology from the British Theatre Guide. Well sort of if you can class ‘he didn’t mean it to offend’ as an apology.
Nicola, we apologise unreservedly for the offence caused by the wording of this review. The offending words have been removed. While the reviewer may not have intended to offend, he accepts that it is not acceptable to use such descriptions in a review and not BTG policy.

Nicola Coughlan is a hero though so that’s all we care about. Do not put up with any bullshit ever, particularly when it’s totally irrelevant to what you’re doing.
HAIM
HAIM are another group of gals who aren’t here for your sexist bullshit. The sisters revealed that they fired their agent after they found out that they were paid ten times less than a male act for an appearance at the same festival. TEN TIMES.
It’s fucked up not even to be paid half the same amount. But to be paid a tenth of that amount of money? It was insane. It’s so hard to check: everything’s so secretive about how much people are getting paid, and that’s bullshit.
Yes, yes it absolutely is bullshit. GO HAIM.
Hozier
Hozier has revealed that he will be releasing new music this year much to the delight of nearly everyone in land. It’s been 4 years since we had an album from Hozier which is way too long by anyone’s standards.
Excited to announce my North American tour which will coincide with the releasing of new work. The completion of the record is approaching and I'm eager to share it. Sincere thanks to you for your continued support. Hope to see you on the road again. Tickets on sale this Friday pic.twitter.com/0NJM2pLG8J

The Bray man released dates for a North American tour in September and October on Monday to much acclaim and we’re all just very excited at the prospect of new Hozier.
