THE LAST COUPLE of weeks in Boston have been a hellish combination of snow storms and ice that we in Ireland could only have nightmares about.
But one man is using the weather to his advantage by setting up a business that thrives on the ridiculously snowy scenes in Boston, like this one:
The man’s name is Kyle Waring and his idea is simple enough – sell snow by the bottle to people in other States to get rid of it from his city. And the crazy thing is, people are actually buying it.
The name of the website where he sells it is Ship Snow, Yo and their website outlines the mission at hand:
This is your chance to not only own a piece of history, but also help save Boston from #Snowmageddon2015! Every order counts! Note: We will not ship snow to any states in the northeast! We’re in the business of expunging snow!
According to Waring, speaking to Boston.com, he is getting quite a bit of business. You can buy a regular-sized bottle for $20 or six whole pounds of snow for “only $89″ – which is a popular gag gift amongst corporations, apparently.
The 6lbs of snow is guaranteed to arrive anywhere in the States within 20 hours.
The website does have a key discalimer on there though – that they can not guarantee the snow won’t melt:
Please Note: We’ll try our best to make sure your snow won’t melt, but we can’t guarantee that it will arrive exactly as packed (yet). We are launching new insulated packaging in 2-days!
A $20 bottle of ice-cold water, anyone?
