And she claims the bride was grand with the whole thing.

OVER THE PAST few days, this photo of a man proposing to his fiancé during somebody else’s wedding has managed to annoy, oh, pretty much everybody.

The image was shared on Reddit on Monday and quickly went viral with many lambasting the man in question for picking that day of all days to pop the big question.

Now the woman at the centre of the furore has spoken out and claimed that the bride was totally grand about it and in on it from the start.

Identifying herself only as Megan from Iowa, the woman told the New York Daily News that the bride was in fact her sister and that she “insisted” the proposal happen during the wedding.

My fiancé told her he didn’t want to ruin their day and she insisted it would only make it better!

Many had speculated that the bride’s smile was either forced or masking deep, deep anger, but Megan clarified that she was actually trying to keep the tears in.

She’s actually trying not to cry because it was such a happy moment for all of us

As for how the photo has been received on the internet? She said it was “sad to see,” but that she understood people’s gut reactions.

I guess if I didn’t know the whole story, then I would feel the same way as some of them; however, I wouldn’t voice my opinion about it because it’s none of my business.

She provided the New York Daily News with two more photos that seem to indicate that it was a very happy day for all involved.

So now.
