Xander from Buffy was a bit confused about Ireland and the UK
Persephonemagazine Persephonemagazine
XANDER FROM BUFFY The Vampire Slayer – aka actor Nicholas Brendon – is currently in Dublin. He appeared yesterday on the Rick O’Shea show on RTÉ 2fm.
And he was a little mixed up on the local geopolitics when asked whether this was his first visit.
“[It's my] first time in Ireland,” he said. “I had to think about it. Scotland is not Ireland, right?”
In fairness, he WAS just off the plane. He also redeemed himself immediately by comparing us favourably to Wales.
Brendan is in Dublin for Comic Con, along with his Buffy co-star Emma Caulfield who played Anya.
He also spoke about his public battle with depression and alcoholism, which has seen him spend two months in rehab, and the support he has received from fans.

Hundreds of fans have left comments on the actor’s Facebook, where he has documented his progress through rehab. “Very happy to see your smiling face,” wrote one on a recent post.
Brendon said: “When I was in rehab my girlfriend was actually going through a lot of the emails. She and her mum would read them and just… start crying. The amount of love that people had. And that people don’t really have an outlet for.”
He said a lot of people were “really struggling with depression, and they’re embarrassed about it. But it’s something they shouldn’t be embarrassed about.”
