Man pays €540 on eBay for a photo of an XBox One
A MAN IN Nottingham has been tricked into paying €540 to an eBay seller for a photo of an Xbox One.
The Nottingham Post reports that nineteen-year-old Peter Clatworthy thought he was buying a limited edition version of the console, but all he received in the post was a picture.
The listing on eBay stated that it was technically a photo that was for sale, but Clatworthy said that because it was listed in the video games and consoles category, and the description was that of a new console, he thought the real deal was for sale.
A spokesperson for eBay has said that the teenager, who had saved up for the console as a surprise present for his four-year-old son, can expect a full refund from the seller.
Xbox One Day One consoles (and not just pictures of them) are for sale on Adverts.ie and DoneDeal.ie, ranging in price from €500 to €1000.
