Singer hits back after E! host says dreadlocks could 'smell of weed'

EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD singer Zendaya Coleman has hit back after E! presenters Guiliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne said her Oscars hairstyle looked like it might ‘smell of weed’ .

Rancic and Osbourne were part of a panel critiquing the Oscars fashion during an E! Fashion Police special when they said:

I feel like she smells of patchouli oil.

Or weed?

The remarks drew criticism on Twitter and prompted an eloquent response from the singer, who said that while she doesn’t often respond to negative remarks, she couldn’t let this one slide.

Rancic has since clarified her comments, expressing horror at the accusations of racism.
