Zig and Zag are back in a new form, and here's what they'll look like
RTE RTE
ZIG AND ZAG are returning to RTÉ with their own new series.
The characters – full names Zigmund Ambrose Zogly and Zagnatius Hillary Zogly – will make a comeback in the form of a new animated show for RTÉjr called simply Zig and Zag.
In it the aliens will “experience everything planet Earth has to offer”, having made their home in a half spaceship/half house in the suburbs. (As everyone knows, Zig and Zag are originally from the planet Zog.)
Initial reports about its creation described it as beginning after the pair “crash land in the middle of humdrum suburbia” following a “disastrous space road trip”.
They will look like this:

The 26-episode show will mark the pair’s first dedicated kids’ show since they made The Zig and Zag Show for ITV in the 1990s – during their self-imposed exile from the Irish entertainment scene in search of fame and fortune abroad.
It has been written by Zig and Zag voice actors Ciaran Morrison and Mick O’Hara, according to Big Cartoon News.
Scheduled for broadcast in 2016, the new series was announced today as RTÉjr celebrates its second birthday.

“RTÉjr viewers’ parents grew up with the original alien brothers” said Sheila de Courcy, RTÉ’s head of children’s content, adding that the new series would recreate the “fun and mayhem” of The Den.
The series was produced by RTÉjr and CBBC in partnership with Flickerpix, Jam Media and Double Z Enterprises.
