Just Senator Susan O'Keeffe, giving a radio interview... wait, WHAT?

LABOUR SENATOR Susan O’Keeffe appeared on Ocean FM’s North West Today show earlier this week to discuss (among other things) WB Yeats.

As part of this, she mentioned a boating trip Yeats took with his wife. Her turn of phrase was… exceptional.

Naturally, this being an Irish audience, it did not go unnoticed.

North West Today presenter Niall Delaney told DailyEdge.ie that Ocean FM received a number of amused texts following the good Senator’s (clearly unintentional) comments. Reassuringly, listeners’ minds were in the gutter.

There were a couple of texts in, saying it was an ‘outrageous statement’, ‘uncalled for from a Senator’, etcetera etcetera. In fairness to her, she obviously didn’t realise what she said.

He added: “One person said it explained why she wasn’t in the Seanad for the banking inquiry.”

Happy birthday, WB Yeats! Hope you enjoyed the boat trip.
