The John Lewis Christmas ad is here! And it will make you cry.

Meet Monty, the lonely penguin.

THIS YEAR’S JOHN Lewis Christmas advert is here.

It’s all about a young boy and his best friend Monty, who is a penguin.

But Monty is lonely.

The music is Real Love, originally written by John Lennon and performed by Tom Odell. It continues a tradition of artists recording covers especially for the ad – last year, Lily Allen performed Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know.

And yes, Monty has an official Twitter account.
