IRELAND’S LAST BIG meaningful win against Italy in a major tournament was in Giants Stadium, New Jersey on 18 June 1994.
It spawned another Great Green Hope that Ireland could recreate the magic of Italia 90, and it spawned the most famous tumble in the country’s history.

(Italia 90 was 26 years ago but we can’t even think about that without having palpitations. Sure 1990 was only ten years ago WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!)
