Guinness has an *interesting* three-step serving suggestion for people at SXSW

Get yer spoons out.

THE SXSW FESTIVAL is in full swing in Austin, Texas this week – with everyone from James Franco to the cast of Game of Thrones in town.

Irishman Seán Cannon Early is there for New Slang this week, and he came across a Guinness stand with a serving suggestion that mixes Ireland and Texas:

The half-and-half is known in Ireland, usually with Smithwick’s – and it’s often called a “Black & Tan” over in the States when served with Harp.

This three step process is an intriguing new push to get people in the States to lighten a pint of the black stuff though:

halfandhalf3 Guinness Guinness

Featuring a “pouring spoon.”

Some other creations included in their Half & Half recipe book include:

  • Irish Apple (Guinness & Cider)
  • Black & Gold (Guinness & Lager)
  • Guinness Hopper (Guinness & IPA)

So now.

If it’s at SXWS, this must be the cutting edge future for Guinness.

Prepare yourselves.
