5 questions for the Fringe: Sonya Kelly
IN TODAY’S MINI-INTERVIEW with an ABSOLUT Fringe 2011 figure, we throw five rapid-fire questions at actor and comedian Sonya Kelly.
Kelly’s show, The Wheelchair on my Face, is at Bewley’s Café Theatre tonight at 8pm, on Saturday at 6pm, and on Saturday, 24 September at 1pm and 6pm.
Sonya Kelly, tell us about your ABSOLUT Fringe:
Describe your show to TheJournal.ie’s readers in 20 words:
A little show about a little girl who couldn’t see but didn’t know. It has funny bits and sad bits.
Do you have any special rituals you just have to carry out before a performance/reading/exhibition?
Have at least one dream where I show up naked not having learned my lines. At least one!
What’s the best/worst audience reaction you’ve ever had to your work?
I walked on stage once and someone shouted, ‘Hello Ed Byrne!’ Is that good or bad?
What/who do you recommend we go see at Absolut Fringe 2011?
Go and see the solo shows. They are brave people who need your support. Also Little Bear Big Apple. Free installation at Project and Fringe box office.
What has inspired you or made you happy today?
My director, Gina Moxley. It’s all good when she’s in the room.
