BEFORE YOU PROCEED, we should probably explain what ASMR is for those who don’t already know. Otherwise, they’ll probably find this list utterly terrifying. As we previously explained:
ASMR – also known as autonomous sensory meridian response – is an experience characterised by intense tingling in the scalp which transitions via the neck to the upper spine.
It is brought on by certain sounds and tones like pen-tapping or hushed voices, also known as ASMR triggers, and YouTube is awash with videos, created by individuals known as ASMRtists, which are aimed at people who experience the ASMR tingle.
1. Irish boyfriend ASMR
Perhaps this is the strangest thing on the internet in general. Nearly 40,000 people have listened to this man with a Cork accent roleplay as their boyfriend. It goes from casually bumping into him and going to a café to, eh, him kissing you in bed. It’s fairly weird.
There’s also this audio clip of another man role-playing one side of an argument with you. He’s your boyfriend and he came home late after having a few pints with his friends from work and he has to try and get back in your good books. He does so by kissing you and ordering you a takeaway. Tbh, this is probably the ultimate relationship goals of any woman who frequents Coppers.
If nothing else, you have to appreciate the serious amount of thought that went into this.
4. Donut ASMR
When the Dublin donut bubble collapses we’ll always have this to listen back on if we want to remember the very specific aural experience of eating a donut.
As creepy as this is, it’s probably not even as bad as the Irish boyfriend ones because this one is actually supposed to be weird. Anyway, almost 100,000 people have sat through this video imagining this lad kidnapped them.
This is something you’d quickly get sick of listening to in real life. Why would you make a conscious decision to look this up and listen to it in order to relax?
