IT’S PROBABLY AN understatement to say that Lori Shortall is disappointed after flying 18,000 miles around the world to attempt to see various Adele concerts.
The teacher from Newfoundland, Canada, originally had tickets to travel to see the popstar in Houston, Texas. She paid for flights and accommodation to see the concert and ended up losing out on €680 of her earnings on top of that.
Five years later, she decided to go see Adele in Phoenix, Arizona and booked a 10-day family holiday to coincide with the concert. Amazingly, the gig was cancelled.
Most recently, Lori flew to the UK from Newfoundland to see Adele play live at Wembley. Lori soon found out that Adele had to cancel the final leg of her tour due to illness. You would only be raging.
Lori went to Facebook in hopes of getting Adele’s attention and sharing her terrible luck with the singer.
She wrote:
Adele. This is the THIRD concert you have cancelled on me!!! Houston (2011), Phoenix (2016), and London (2017). I am a school music teacher from Newfoundland, Canada and am broke from travelling around to cancelled concerts [...] I still haven’t seen you in concert and I estimate I have forked out almost $10,000 now. Help a girl out!!! All I want is 5 minutes of your time and a cup of tea!!!
Lori has also reached out for the help of Ellen Degeneres and James Corden. What’s the bets Ellen will bring her on the show to an empty studio audience with the lights off and pretend the show got cancelled that day?
Hopefully once Adele’s feeling better, she’ll pick Lori up on that offer of a cup of tea.
