Ashton Kutcher calls for gun control after revealing he celebrated his birthday at the Borderline Bar
ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT, Ian David Long opened fire at the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, an area north-west of Los Angeles.
The mass shooting claimed 12 lives, including one man who survived a mass shooting in Las Vegas last year.
As the victims of America’s most recent mass shooting are remembered by the press and public, Ashton Kutcher added his voice to the conversation.

Earlier today, the actor wrote that he had celebrated his birthday at the same bar which Long chose to open fire at earlier this week.
Calling for gun reform, Ashton told his followers: “My wife threw me a birthday party this year at the Borderline. Only reason we are alive is the shooter chose a different night.”
Ashton, who says he ‘grew up a hunter’ and worked at gun clubs in the past, pleaded with politicians to reevaluate the laws on gun control.
Tagging Ivanka Trump in one of many tweets which comprised a series of messages he posted on the matter, Ashton reminded her that no one is safe from gun violence under current legislation.
The actor was met with considerable support as he outlined the shortcomings in current legislation, and called for improvements.
Ashton completed the series of tweets by revealing that he had been handed a gun by a friend in the carpark of the Borderline Bar and Grill as a birthday present, and has made the decision never to shoot it.
