ALAN HUGHES HAD to retake his driving test as a TV challenge this morning.
It didn’t go too well. In fact the test – part of the Challenge Alan segment on TV3′s Ireland AM – saw regular driver Hughes fail the test comprehensively.
Here are some sample bits of dialogue:
Eh… is it train tracks?
A small roundabout? A bump?
Oh RIGHT. Sorry, right. I was turning left.
Alan ended up with two grade three faults (each of which is an automatic fail) and 25 grade two faults. The instructor had to sit him down for a bit of a talking to afterwards.
Following the segment, Alan had only this to say:
I am gobsmacked at how difficult I found it. I didn’t look at a thing before doing the test so in hindsight that wasn’t a great idea.
