ALDI HAVE ANSWERED the prayers of many people and have added their 3 litre bottles of Prosecco to Irish shelves.
That’s the equivalent of four regular bottles, just in one giant bottle. Why? Well, why not? For the first time in human history, investing in €350 wine decanter that prevents oxygen from destroying wine once you open it actually sounds like a decent idea. Although, it probably doesn’t work in carbonated wine. So… Never mind.

After two or three glasses, few people would trust themselves to pour a drink out of this gigantic bottle.
Aldi describe it as having ‘light, delicate aromas of fresh citrus fruits and wisteria flower’ and say that the flavour is ‘delicate with a refreshing acidity and soft sherbet taste’. They recommend pairing it with light fish dishes or salads, but who’s going to take heed of that?
Realistically this is just the makings of an extremely novel pre-drinks session for 6 people. It costs €69.99 and it is in shops now.
