FROM THE 7TH of December onward, your pets will be able to join in on the Christmas festivities.
That’s because on that date, Aldi are launching a gas line of non-alcoholic drinks for cats and dogs. The option for dogs, which sounds like the name of a genuine craft beer, is called ‘Bottom Sniffer’.
It’s a non-carbonated, and more importantly, non-alcoholic beer-type drink. It contains some harmless, unfermented ingredients like barley malt, water, dandelion, nettle, flax and of course, chicken flavouring – which isn’t something humans typically enjoy in their tipple. A 330ml bottle of this doggy beer will cost €2.99.
For cats, there’s a more sophisticated option… Pawsecco.
With similarly innocuous ingredients, Pawsecco comes in both rosé and white. It’s not really carbonated and it contains no grapes (which are quite dangerous to feed animals, and can cause kidney failure in dogs, FYI).
With the advice of veterinary experts and the taste testing of both cats and dogs, Pawsecco is made of a blend of elderflower, nettle, ginseng and limeflower. The rosé contains carrot, to give it some colour.
The €2.99 drinks can be poured over food as ‘jus’, or drank alone. Now all they’ve got to do is release some special Pawsecco bowls to serve this in.
