Sorry, Aldi won’t be doing wine deliveries in Ireland after all
ALDI HAVE ANNOUNCED that they are going to begin selling wine online. Yupee! But… not to you, Irish resident.
The discount supermarket chain confirmed that reports in the Daily Star and the Examiner today that said the service will be introduced in Ireland next year are “highly inaccurate”.
Shoppers in the UK will be able to avail of wine delivery to their door by early 2016, but there are no immediate plans to do so in Ireland.
The UK service is due to be introduced in 2016 and will sell wine by the box, with some limited edition bottles available online only.
Alas, we wait with bated breath.
Whoops!
