WE HAVEN’T SEEN much of Alicia Silverstone on this side of the pond anyway since her iconic role as Cher in ‘Clueless’.

Since then she’s gone on to become an author and is currently starring in new sitcom ‘American Woman’ where her character Bonnie has just left her husband after being inspired by the second wave of feminism.

She was on the Stephen Colbert show to talk about the show and revealed a couple of odd things. Firstly she’s a big environmentalist and as such she somehow got a meeting with Donald Trump about 10 years ago to talk about solar panels. As you do.

She ended up having a meeting with him to see if he’d put solar panels on all his buildings which funnily enough he decided against because of the cost.

Turns out she still has his number and is curious to see if it works after all this time. We’d also like to know to be honest just to see what happens.

Anyway the oddest story she divulged was the story about taking her 7 year old son to see ‘Clueless’ for the first time. She was unsure about letting him see it because in her eyes it’s kind of inappropriate but she took him anyway.

It was a screening in a cemetery in LA (naturally) and so Alicia, her son and around 4,000 other people lay back to watch the movie and it seems her son took the wrong message away from the whole thing.

The one thing he took away from it aside from all the things that I was worried about was that he kept trying to French kiss me afterwards which was very sweet.

Right. Ok.

Stephen Colbert and the audience seemed to find the whole thing a little odd but Alicia herself was there giggling away no bother. Alicia said that she’d clamped her mouth closed and asked Stephen was he worried about her to which he replied ‘Nope!’ with the air of a man wondering how the interview had gone in that particular direction.

Alicia insisted that her son wasn’t doing it anymore with Stephen ending the interview saying ‘Don’t take Donald Trump to see that movie’.
