ISRAEL BROUSSARD HAS issued an apology after tweets he wrote in 2016 relating to the Black Lives Matter movement resurfaced in recent days.

The 24-year-old actor, who stars in the recently-released Netflix film To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, has been accused of racist rhetoric this week.
In 2016, the actor appeared to condemn the Black Lives Matter movement by alleging that it’s only goal was ‘division’.
One week later, he tweeted:
The remarks have caused controversy online, with fans of the Netflix film expressing disgust over the original tweets and disregard for the subsequent apology.
This week, the actor issued an apology on Twitter for his own series of tweets as well as posts he liked containing various other racist sentiments.
Insisting he was ‘deeply sorry’, Israel said he took full responsibility for his action and is seeking to educate himself on various matters.
The tweet has amassed a mere 1,200 likes since it was uploaded.
