THE UNOFFICIAL QUEEN of Ireland, Amy Huberman, was on The Late Late Show last night, chatting about her show Striking Out with co-star Maria Doyle Kennedy.
At the minute, her character Tara is torn between dishy landlord Pete and her ex-fiancé-who-she’s-still-a-bit-keen-on Eric.
Given her years in the industry, having starred in the likes of The Clinic and Threesome, she’d be well used to seeing herself shift someone other than her husband, former Irish rugby player Brian O’Driscoll.
Well, you’d be wrong.
I’m not there. I’m not watching them. I’ll just disappear … Anywhere but the TV room.”
Apparently, Brian doesn’t mind though – he even goes golfing with her on-screen flings, including James Nesbitt from Cold Feet. Fair play.
Hilariously, she also has no idea about rugby. Seriously. Not a bob.
I mean, I know Peter Stringer played, and I know Brian played. I know those things.
I was starting at zero, and I was soon as I was at the games, it was too late to ask. I was never really a sport person.”
