Amy Poehler told the NRA to 'f*ck off' after they used her face in a tweet

She wasn’t having it.

MICHAEL SCHUR, A former Parks and Recreation producer, has hit out at the National Rifle Association after they used a gif featuring Amy Poheler in a recent tweet.

Reaching out to NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch yesterday, the hugely controversial organisation expressed their gratitude to her for speaking on behalf of its members.

In a tweet which amassed less than 4,000 likes, the organisation, wrote: “Thank you for being the voice of over 5 Million #NRA members.”

Their ill-advised decision to use Amy Poehler’s character in Parks and Rec to reinforce their sentiments did not go unnoticed by the show’s former produce or its leading actress.

Responding to the tweet, Michael Schur advised the organisation to remove the post.

Hi, please take this down. I would prefer you not use a GIF from a show I worked on to promote your pro-slaughter agenda.
Speaking on behalf of his former colleague. Michael then added Amy’s input on the matter.
Also, Amy isn’t on twitter, but she texted me a message: “Can you tweet the NRA for me and tell them I said fuck off?”

In stark contrast to the NRA’s message, Michael’s has amassed more than 130,000 likes since last night.
