Amy Schumer called out a movie critic after he made a joke about her on Twitter

And started a mass debate about what’s OK to joke about.

AT THE CRITICS’ Choice Awards on Sunday night, a young film critic by the name of Johnson Murphy - who runs the Lights Camera Jackson film site – got a photo with the comedian.

He then posted it to Twitter, and subsequently deleted it after his comment caused quite a bit of controversy:

Accompanying the photo of Amy and himself, he joked:

Spent the night with @amyschumer. Certainly not the first guy to write that.

And last night Amy got back to him

To which Johnson immediately apologised

Amy got back to him again, saying it was OK but that the original tweet wasn’t nice to read

Many people have supported Schumer on this one

While others commented that this is the exact same type of humour that Amy herself uses on stage

To which people stepped in to say that self-deprecating humour is slightly different

The debate rages on, but at least the two participants have moved past it
