Every single time Andrew Maxwell was the woke bae we needed
LABELLING SOMEONE AS a ‘woke bae’ comes with a large amount of risk. Let’s not forget how quick we all were to thirst over Simon Harris during the Eighth Referendum, only for him to reveal his true colours during the Take Back The City occupations? Yikes.
However, it seems pretty fair for the baton to be passed on to comedian Andrew Maxwell, after his stunning performance on the BBC earlier this week when he schooled the panel on all things Brexit.
“It’s just consternation, confusion,” he said. “We get all British TV, we get all British media, so we know Britain way more than Britain knows Ireland. It’s like a valve that flows in one direction.
“People can be having their dinner right now watching this in Ireland, but nobody in Britain knows Ireland.”
Ate her, Kelly!
For futher enjoyment, here’s Andrew looking absolutely scarlet for journalist Brendan O’Neill after he said his family hails from “peasant stock”.
Morts.
Prior to that, he gave the world the most misquoted line on the Irish border, (he said it, not Dara O’Briain, as it was initially reported), on BBC Four’s The News Quiz.
Host Fred MacAulay asked him what the solution was to the “Irish” border issue. His response?
He’s also had a go at the people looking for blue passports, without much concern for the rest of the consequences of Brexit.

Also, let’s not forget how he encouraged all of us to be more green way back when The Panel used to be a thing.
(Albeit in a fairly irreverent way.)

With great power comes great responsibility, Andrew. In the words of RuPaul: “Don’t f**k it up.”
