X-Men actress Anna Paquin just realised that she was the topless woman shown on BBC News this week
EARLIER THIS WEEK, a rather unlikely clip went viral around the world.
The BBC News at Ten broadcast was taking place as usual, but in the background an employee was casually watching a movie/TV show in which a woman is topless.
It caused much snickering, of course, and is technically NSFW obviously:
It made headlines everywhere, because it’s the BBC News and this kind of thing isn’t supposed to happen

But now there’s been an unexpected break in the case – because the actress who was accidentally shown has recognised herself.
Yes.
You might know Anna Paquin from her role as Rogue in the X-Men movies, as well as turns in Almost Famous, Fly Away Home and HBO’s True Blood
It’s her character Sookie Stackhouse in True Blood that’s relevant here – because that’s what was playing in the background of the news broadcast.
And Anna must have only come across the clip yesterday, because she’s been talking about it online – and thinks it’s gas
So, someone was just watching a full episode of True Blood at their desk – a bit more innocent than many presumed when the video first went viral.
What a surreal experience it must have been for Anna to be watching the clip and thinking: “wait, that’s me.”
She wrote on Instagram:
She also tweeted loads about it

No need for any investigation BBC, Anna has this one sorted

People were saying it was great that she saw the funny side, because it might not be a nice experience to see an image pop up out of context
Anna’s response:

#photoboob is now a thing
@AnnaPaquin @AnnaPaquin
And she needs to talk about royalties

True Blood might have went off air in 2014, but it’s back in the big time thanks to Anna’s response and that one BBC worker who thought they could sneak an episode at work
