MAKING OCEAN’S 8 seems like it was a blast for everyone involved. The all female remake which stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchette, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway and Rihanna (to name just a few) as they attempt to pull off an extraordinary heist.
Anne was on Ellen De Generes to promote the movie and she explained how she was self conscious about her weight as it was her first movie after having her son.
One of the lucky things about being in this business for so long is that I’ve really come to terms with the pressure that you get to look a certain way as an actress and I don’t beat myself up about that stuff anymore. But after I had my son, the weight was slow to come off so I was a different size than I normally am.
In fairness to Anne Hathway, she’s been ahead of most of us in shutting down sexist questions from reporters about how women should look in movies before as she did during the promotion for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.
Despite the director of Ocean’s 8 telling her that they wanted a wide range of body diversity in the movie, Anne was still a bit self conscious.
I walk on the set and in my jeans and I’ve done my best and I’m going to love myself no matter what and Sandy Bullock just looks up and goes ‘Looking good Mama’.
I mean you’d be pretty delighted if Sandra Bullock gave you a compliment but this still wasn’t the best compliment she got. No no, Rihanna it turns out is the best compliment-giver in this situation.
Rihanna looks up and goes ‘Damn girl you gotta ass!’ and I of course was freaked out because I love her so much and I was like ‘Really?’ and she was like ‘You got an ass like me!’
I am pretty sure there is no higher praise that you can get from Rihanna other than that she thinks that you’re a very talented singer.
How does one go about becoming friends with Anne Hathaway and Rihanna? Asking for a friend.
