2. Supermacs announced their intentions to a sponsor a Formula 1 team

Subtle and weirdly believable. We like it.

3. Meanwhile, BBC Three announced a new series entitled David Attenborough: Life of Grime

You may think that this one seems obviously fake, but Stormzy himself fell for it.

Job done so.

4. An Pucán and The Connacht Hotel teamed up on a rather elaborate prank announcing direct flights from Galway to Hollywood.

Per their press release:

Galway City Mayor Noel Larkin and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti have met over the past eight months and have secured a deal between Norwegian Airlines, Wild Atlantic Way and Galway International Airport located at Carnmore.
Mayor Garcetti known as one of the more eccentric mayors in the United States and the Mayor behind the biggest street party hosted by Steve Aoki is said to be extremely excited for this new flight path being operated by Norwegian Airlines.

They also stated that GalwayHood signs had been erected across the city and hijacked the URL galwayhood.com

Honestly, this is just insensitive. Don’t toy with people’s emotions like that.

6. Lyon’s pretended that they were introducing “reusable teabags” that would last for up to 50 cups of tea.

Maybe we’re just stingy, but this sounds kind of handy?

7. The Irish Times successfully duped readers into believing President Donald Trump had purchased Liberty Hall with the intention of turning into a luxury hotel.

Topical.

8. While Lidl teased the introduction of a machine designed to ascertain the freshness of certain items.

Again, this would be handy. Make it happen.

9. ASOS launched a new and innovative delivery service that would see off-duty ASOS models delivering parcels.

Bit long-winded, but sure.

10. And finally, kudos for knocking it out of the park yet again with this announcement that one of their students is set to travel to the International Space Station this year

“Zero Gravity Training will be completed at our specialised deep water training facilities at the National Maritime College of Ireland in Ringaskiddy,” they boasted.

Zero Gravity Training in Ringaskiddy? A likely story.
