Arcade Fire covered Linger at last night's Dublin gig, and everyone was emotional
THOUSANDS TURNED OUT last night to see Arcade Fire take to the stage at Dublin’s 3Arena.
And while performing a stormer of a gig, the Canadian act took time to pay tribute to one of the greatest female rock stars Ireland has ever produced – Dolores O’Riordan.
In memory of the Limerick singer, whose untimely death in January sent shockwaves throughout the music industry, the band played an accoustic version of Linger.
And with the audience joining in, the moment marked one of the most memorable of the gig.
The tribute formed a segue into Everything Now, and for anyone who wasn’t lucky enough to nab a ticket, it makes for bittersweet viewing.
Music fans paid tribute to the band on Twitter in the hours that followed, and footage of the moment has now gone viral.
