UNLESS YOU WERE under a rock since May, you might have noticed that this year, we had one of the loveliest Irish summers that any of us have seen in decades.
It wasn’t just nice – it was suspiciously nice. It got to the point where it was so sunny outside, that we all stopped worrying that we would be stuck in work for the good weather. For some people, it even got to the point where they were kinda wishing that it would rain.

Then, once the August bank holiday weekend was out of the way, we were all subjected to the familiar old feeling of a ‘chill in the air’. Some were basking in the refreshing sensation of being cold, while others were repulsed by it.
It feels like we all had only just sorted out our summer wardrobes, and now we have to try and track down our light jackets. It won’t be long now until we start seeing pumpkins and monkey nuts in the supermarket.
