An article on The Guardian website about President Michael D Higgins’ history-making speech in the UK parliament featured a pretty giggle-inducing error:
He name-checked the Magna Carta, Daniel O’Donnell, Constance Markiewicz, the first woman elected to parliament, before conferring his own blessing on the rapprochement between Ireland and Britain.
It was fixed the next day, but the memory lives on in this wonderful correction.
