Transgender people are sharing stories of hope following teenager's tragic death
THE TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY has been paying tribute to Leelah Alcorn from Ohio, a transgender teenager who tragically died last weekend.
According to The Independent UK, Alcorn was killed after being hit by a tractor-trailer in the early hours of Sunday morning. She was just 17 years of age.

After a blog post that was scheduled to be published in the hours after her death went viral, Twitter has risen up in support of Alcorn and young transgender people in general.
Others in the trans community have started the hashtag #RealLiveTransAdult to share their own stories, and remind younger trans people that ‘it gets better’.
