IRISH EMIGRANTS received terrible news last month when it was announced that Hershey’s would no longer be importing Cadbury chocolate into the States.
Here in Ireland, we recognise that Hershey’s is bitter, gritty, and generally just not as pleasurably creamy as Cadbury. But do the Yanks recognise the difference?
Gawker writers tried out both brands’ versions of Creme Eggs and Fruit and Nut bars, and attempted to put the Cadburys vs Hershey’s debate to bed. Who will win?
While some of our writers said they preferred Hershey because it reminded them of their childhood, others said they thought Cadbury was of a higher quality.
Ultimately, it was a 60%-40% split in favour of Cadbury, but it should have been no contest. It’s not the fault of some of our writers for growing up with a bad taste.
Cadbury rules, Hershey’s drools. Soz, America.
