ANYONE WHO HAS worked in retail will know the pain of dealing with an exceptionally rude customer. But would you go as far to ditch them as this guy did?
Australian author Patrick Lenton (who has become quite the Twitter storyteller) tweeted this tale from his time working at Sydney International Airport.
He claims that he once had a customer who was so rude, he faked his own death in order to get away from them.
Lenton starts the story by explaining that he worked at the duty free collection desk, where people would pick up their items before getting on the plane (NSFW language from here on out):
You’re probably thinking, “Alright, this guy sounds like a bog standard b*stard.” But it gets worse.
At this point, things get a little weird. Seemingly not hearing (or not wanting to hear) that the parcel is being delivered by hand, the customer goes off on one about conveyor belts and tunnels:
As you can tell, things are getting pretty fraught. Patrick decides to go along with things, as he senses a way out:
He stays in there for as long as he can, until the man eventually realises that something is wrong:
And that right there is how you fake your death to get away from a terrible customer.
