Case in point? Twitter user @cattttttt_ has shared a photo in which she highlights the sort of unwanted comments young women attract on social media.

She received this charming message from a follower.
Cat shared the two photos and pointed out how young women are liable to be objectified and sexualised even when sharing something as utterly harmless as a pair of headphones.

The tweet has been retweeted over 30,000 times and people have been expressing horror at the lad’s pervy message.
Although there were still some who maintained that she was “asking for it”.
