EVERYONE WHO HAS ever been on the job hunt knows that there’s a huge chance their CV might never get so much as a glance. So what to do?
Marketing specialist Lukas Yla came up with one solution: doughnuts.
Yla moved to San Francisco in the summer after five years of working in technology in his home country of Lithuania.
Realising that he didn’t have work experience in the US and the competition for jobs was tougher, he knew he would have to make himself stand out however he could.
So he bought boxes of delicious doughnuts and and hand-delivered them to each company he was interested in working for, including a message about his CV:
As you have noticed, I approach things in a different way and most importantly – I like to get them done.
Oh, you can rely on doughnuts getting people’s attention, Lukas.
He revealed to Metro that his approach has paid off in interviews:
I’ve delivered over 40 boxes of doughnuts so far… I landed 10 interviews, and I am in the interview process with a couple of companies.
