MODEL GIGI HADID has apologised for poking fun at Melania Trump at the American Music Awards on Sunday night.
The model hosted the ceremony with Saturday Night Live comedian Jay Pharaoh – at one point, she did an impression of incoming First Lady.

The impression comprised of a pout, an accent, and the line:
I love my husband, President Barack Obama, and our children, Sasha and Malia.
The bit left people outraged, with people labelling Hadid ‘classless’ and ‘disrespectful’ – she was even accused of ‘bullying’ Trump.
Last night, Hadid posted a handwritten apology to Trump on her Twitter account, saying the impression was done “in good humour”.
Her apology reads:
I removed or changed anything in the script that I felt took the joke too far, and whether or not you choose to see it, what remained was done in good humour and with no bad intent.
I believe Melania understands show business and the way shows are written and run. I apologise to anyone that I offended and have only the best wishes for our country.
