LA LA LAND cleaned up at last night’s Golden Globe Awards and Meryl Streep made headlines with a speech that was critical of Donald Trump.
But here are some other little moments you might have missed.
1. Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield shifted each other as Ryan Gosling was going on stage to accept his award
As you do.
2. Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn looking totally unimpressed with Meryl Streep’s anti-Trump speech
Both Gibson and Vaughn have supported conservative candidates in the past, although neither explicitly supported Donald Trump in the recent election.
Still, though. Their faces say it all.
3. BLAKE LIVELY’S DRESS HAD POCKETS
The absolute dream.
4. Tom Hiddleston bored the shite out of everyone with a self-congratulatory speech
While accepting an award for his performance in The Night Manager, Hiddleston recounted a recent visit to South Sudan with the United Nations Children’s Fund when he met some aid workers who had watched The Night Manager.
One night we were having a bite to eat in the canteen where we were staying and a group of young men and women tottered over to the table and we were all having what they call a “dirty beer” in humanitarian language. And they were a group of MSF doctors and nurses, and they wanted to say hello because during the shelling the previous month, they had binge-watched The Night Manager.
Hiddleston stated that the idea he could provide “relief and entertainment” for “people who are fixing the world in the places where it is broken” made him proud. He went on to dedicate his award to “those out there who are doing their best”.
It… didn’t go down well.
The audience’s faces say it all.

5. Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross became the first African-American woman in 34 years to win Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy
Ross, who is the daughter of Diana Ross, dedicated her win to “all of the women, women of color, and colorful people, whose stories, ideas, thoughts are not always considered worthy and valid and important”.
Following her win, people unearthed this old Donald Trump tweet and it went viral.
Oh man.
6. Emma Stone had a really awkward hug with La La Land director Damien Chazelle
That was weird, I’m sorry.
7. A red carpet reporter made a hames of the name of Pharrell’s movie while interviewing him
Jenna Bush Hagar, daughter of one George W. Bush, was interviewing Pharrell on the red carpet and said:
You’re nominated for Hidden Fences.
(If you can’t see the video, please click here.)
In fact, Pharrell Williams was nominated for Best Original Score for his work on Hidden Figures, a movie about the three African-American women behind the launch of John Glenn into orbit.
Jenna Bush Hagar was likely getting mixed up between Hidden Figures and Fences, which is a completely different movie starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis.
Remarkably, Michael Keaton also incorrectly referred to Hidden Figures as “Hidden Fences” later in the night.

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.
8. Jimmy Fallon enlisted a host of A-list stars to participate in a La La Land parody
Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams, Tina Fey, Justin Timberlake, Kit Harrington, the cast of Stranger Things and Ryan Reynolds were among those to take part.
Watch it in full below.
9. Evan Rachel Wood wore a tuxedo to show girls that “dresses aren’t a requirement”
I’ve been to the Globes six times. I’ve worn a dress every time. And I love dresses, I’m not trying to protest dresses. But, I want to make sure that young girls and women know they aren’t a requirement and that you don’t have to wear one if you don’t want to. To just be yourself because your worth is more than that.
So now.
10. Our beloved Chrissy Teigen decided to just straight up sat down on the red carpet
And showed the world how it’s done.
As Teigen noted on Twitter, “It’s a long night.”
Damn straight.
11. For some reason, the writers of the Golden Globes thought it would be hilarious if Sofia Vergara had to say ‘anal’ twice on stage
The gag? She can’t pronounce ‘annual’. Because English isn’t her first language. Get it?
Ha, ha, ha.
Less of this in 2017, please.
12. Dev Patel and Sunny Pawar, the stars of the movie Lion, melted everyone’s hearts
Look at that little guy!!! What a dote.
13. Kristen Bell wore a ‘butt pad’ to the ceremony
Good woman.
14. Irish actress Caitriona Balfe was greeted by a contingent of Outlander fans on the red carpet
In your face, Emma Stone.
Here she in her guna. G’wan the Irish gals!
15. Brad Pitt showed up unexpectedly to introduce a clip from the film Moonlight and received a massive round of applause
Just look at how pleased Matt Damon was to see him. He was *this* close to throwing his knickers at him.
