WE FEEL KIND of sorry for the teenagers of today, who know everything there is to know about makeup and will never make the mistakes we did. It was such an experience!
1. Lancome Juicy Tubes
So sticky! We can still smell them.
2. Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse
The Pan Stik of the 2000s, we’d wager. Worn about an inch thick and two shades too dark, of course.
3. Britney Spears’ Curious or Fantasy
Basically anything with Britney Spears’ name on it, you’d take.
4. J Lo Glow
J Lo was the epitome of glamour back then (and now, TBH).
5. Or indeed, Lacoste Touch of Pink
You and all your friends had this (it’s PINK!) and you all smelled the same and that was totally fine. Preferred, even.
6. Barry M Dazzle Dust
In blue or icy white, applied with no precision whatsoever.
7. Benefit Bad Gal eyeliner
The idea was to draw rings of this around your eyes until you resembled a raccoon. The pink and black packaging was EXTREMELY cool to you.
8. Johnson’s Holiday Skin
“Subtle, fresh fragrance.” Ha! It smelled of biscuits, like every other tan-related product.
9. Miss Sporty nail polish
Miss Sporty everything in fact. So cheap and accessible to those of us without a Boots nearby!
10. Nivea Pearly Shine
The closest thing to lipstick you could get away with in school.
11. Benefit or Urban Decay glitter body powders
Did you actually get these? Probably not. Did you crave them with every fibre of your being? Hell yes.
12. And absolutely anything that came in a stack like this
Because why get one good eyeshadow when you could have ten mediocre ones that were impossible to get at?
